Lésbica escreve livro sobre Jesus transgênero e bissexual

A editora AndroGyne Press acaba de publicar o livro “Jesus in Love”, escrito por Kittredge Cherry, uma lésbica cristã. Segundo Cherry, ela passou a seguir o catolicismo depois de estudar jornalismo no Japão. Foi ali que, segundo a escritora, sentiu “que Deus me havia alcançado tal como sou, isto é, lésbica.”

“Assim como compreendi que Deus existia, soube que Ele aceitava a homossexualidade”, escreve Cherry em seu livro. No romance, a escritora fala da sexualidade de Cristo e descreve as relações de Jesus com João, o discípulo amado, Maria Madalena e seu Espírito Santo a quem classifica de “multigênero”.

“Escrevi sobre um Jesus sexual porque os humanos são sexuais, e o coloquei como bissexual-transgênero porque não quero limitar a sexualidade de Jesus a um aspecto só”, explica Cherry. E acrescenta: “Enquanto escrevia o romance, Cristo me revelava sua compaixão. Não é um romance de feitos históricos, mas de verdades espirituais”, assegura a escritora.

O romance foi considerado uma blasfema por cristãos conservadores, que vêem o livro como um passo a mais na “agenda gay para distorcer a ética cristã”.
